The Northallerton Silver Band performed a stirring range of favourite tunes at their Last Night of the Proms concert on 17th October, in aid of nearby charity St Teresa’s Hospice, which provides free end of life care in Northallerton and the surrounding area. Band members sold tickets to the performance and ran a raffle on the night with proceeds coming to the Hospice.

Also performing at the concert were members of the Witness Choir. In order to support the Hospice further, members of the Witness Choir chose to donate their performance fee to the charity, bringing the total raised by the event to a marvellous £2,788.01!

The event was sponsored by Barclays bank and Sherwoods Group.

Northallerton Silver Band meets on Mondays and Thursdays, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Members contribute £1 a week towards the operation of the band, including instrument hire. Anyone wanting details about joining, can visit www.northallertonsilver.bravehost.com or call 01609 777272.
