Going another round for the Knockout Challenge

Our electrifying Knockout Challenge returned on Sunday at Blackwell Meadows Rugby Club. More than a hundred people from 17 businesses and groups across the region took part, competing in thrilling games in aid of St Teresa’s Hospice, and for the chance to be crowned the 2015 Knockout Champs!

Silly games, silly foam and sillier
people make this game a firm favourite!
Ladies and Gentlemen, the
Singing Fruit of Darlington Operatics!

Light showers in the afternoon didn’t dampen spirits as players competed in a mad medley of games across the inflatable arena and cut a rug (or rather turf) in the dance-off challenge. Strutting their stuff with the Blues Brothers and showing off some surprising morris dancing skills, everyone brought their best moves in a enthusiastic effort to grab a few bonus points.

Despite spirited competition, the Broadway Babes from Darlington Operatic Society emerged as the winners. What’s more, not only did the Babes take home the championship, they also won the Best Dressed Joker mascot competition with their Bowl of Singing Fruit! Stalwarts of the Knockout Challenge, Darlington Operatic Society previously won in 2013.

The Knockout Challenge is expected to raise over £6,500 for our Hospice once all team sponsorship is collected. We’d like to thank everyone who sponsored a game, as well as all the fantastic teams who took part, and everyone who gave their time on the day to make Knockout 2015 such a success.
