Directions

St Teresa’s Hospice is based close to Darlington Town Centre, with the Memorial Hospital nearby. To find us, follow the directions below.

St Teresa’s Hospice, The Woodlands, 91 Woodland Road, Darlington, Co. Durham, DL3 7UA.

All new visitors please report to In Patient Unit Reception (unless directed otherwise in advance.) Please note a permit system is in operation and spaces are limited. When you sign in at reception you will be issued with a permit which you must display in your car.

Directions coming from the North

  • From the A1 (M)
  • A68 turn-off to Darlington (it’s the 2nd Darlington turn-off) taking first exit at roundabout off motorway.
  • Follow signs to Town Centre, straight on at 2 roundabouts and bear left at both mini-roundabouts
  • You are now on Woodland Road
  • After a few hundred yards, you will see a Shell petrol station on right hand side of road – indicate right
  • The driveway to The Woodlands is on the right, immediately after the garage (before the pelican crossing)

Directions coming from the South

  • From A1 (M)
  • A66 exit to Darlington (shortly after Scotch Corner)
  • Straight ahead at First Roundabout towards Darlington Town Centre
  • First exit at the next roundabout onto Carmel Road (Reg Vardy’s Garage on your right)
  • Straight ahead at next roundabout (Elm Ridge Nurseries on left) – still on Carmel Road
  • Follow signs to Town Centre (bearing right at next two mini roundabouts)
  • You are now on Woodland Road
  • After a few hundred yards, you will see a Shell petrol station ahead on right hand side of road – indicate right.The driveway to The Woodlands is on the right, immediately after the garage (before the pelican crossing)

Directions coming from the Teesside

  • Follow A66 from Teesside to Darlington & round the outer ring road – as if to A1(M) Scotch Corner
  • At the last roundabout (Reg Vardy’s Garage on left) take 3rd exit onto Carmel Road (signposted for A67)
  • Straight ahead at next roundabout (Elm Ridge Nurseries on left) – still on Carmel Road
  • Follow signs to Town Centre (bearing right at next two mini roundabouts)
  • You are now on Woodland Road
  • After a few hundred yards, you will see a Shell petrol station on right hand side of road – indicate right. The driveway to The Woodlands is on the right, immediately after the garage (before the pelican crossing).
