Website Accessibility

St Teresa’s Hospice are committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all. We have worked hard to ensure that it can be used easily on most devices and by those using assistive technologies.

You can use the Text Zoom built into your browser, if you find the text is too small on any pages. On most PC’s this can be activated by pressing the magnifying glass on your browser, in the top right-hand corner, or pressing the “CTRL” button while scrolling with your mouse.

We have ensured all images have descriptive and easy to understand Alt Text.

We support the WAI initiative to encourage website users to contact us if they feel improvements could be made to its accessibility. Further information about this can be found on the WAI website here http://www.w3.org/WAI/users/inaccessible

Hospice Accessibility

Our Hospice Inpatient Unit and our Wellbeing Hub at The Woodlands are both fully accessible, as well as dementia friendly. We have 6 car parking spaces for disabled users; 2 outside our Inpatient Unit and 4 outside of the Wellbeing Hub at The Woodlands.

Both of the buildings are accessible via step free entrances. The Woodlands building has a lift providing access to each floor as necessary, whereas the Inpatient Unit is single level with all rooms on the ground floor. Both buildings are equipped with accessible toilets, and have an alarm system for help in an emergency.

Any suggestions

If you have any suggestions or feedback to make our website or hospice more accessible or easier to use, please get in touch at hello@darlingtonhospice.org.uk. We will try hard to solve any problems as we become aware of them.
