Carers Support
At St Teresa’s Hospice we provide support for families, carers or friends of those diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.
Many people do not see themselves as a ‘carer’ because providing help and support to another person is often seen as a natural part of family life or friendships.
If you are looking after a friend or family member with a life-limiting illness, however, whether that’s driving them to hospital appointments, offering emotional support or helping with the practicalities of everyday life, then you may be eligible for a range of support, benefits and rights as a carer.
Being a carer doesn’t mean you’re no longer a partner, father, daughter etc., it simply means there is another dimension to your relationship. Also, many children and young adults have caring responsibilities or are affected by the illness of someone close to them. It’s important that their needs or concerns are recognised too. The Family Support Team at St Teresa’s Hospice is made up of experienced social workers, counsellors and support workers. We are here to listen to you and help you with whatever is important to you and your family
What do we offer?
