Lymphoedema Clinic

St Teresa’s Hospice runs a Lymphoedema Clinic from the Woodlands Annexe with specially trained nurses

Lymphoedema is a disease that causes fluid to collect in the body’s tissues. It can affect anyone at any time and there is no cure. With the right treatment and advice it is controllable and can be managed with patient compliance to maximise quality of life.

The Clinic offers patients support and information on how best to live with the disease, be it primary (determined from birth) or secondary (impaired lymphatic system as a result of surgery, radiotherapy, infection, severe injury, burns or trauma).

The Hospice provides purpose built treatment rooms and admin facilities to make the Clinic possible. Our Clinic currently runs every Monday afternoon and Thursday Morning.

Currently, the Hospice can only take Lymphoedma Referrals from within Darlington.
